The group is sent off from the barracks by the knight Gawain, leaving the old man behind to catch his breath. With their next location in mind, Ludo tries to appear more put-together during this trek, explaining things about the local culture.
All the livestock they see are treasured animals; as there are mostly farmers in Caelum, so those who dedicate themselves to raising livestock are highly treasured. However, the highest class in the land are actually musicians. The music they hear is likely coming from Luthier, but there is a handful of musicians in every village to maintain peace and order.
They make their way through Artura, which is known for its great steps, known as la scala. Yes, these are the steps on the map, yes, you are walking up All Of Them. It takes a good while, and Ludo agrees to any breaks requested, though he doesn’t appear to get winded or tired in the least.
Once they reach the top though, they are already in Luthier. This looks like a more typical, old town one might find in Oceanus, with inns and taverns and a square in the middle where musicians are playing. The great tree towers above it all, the crystalline growths shining in the last of the evening’s light.
SHE’S WINDED. Milly finds the crystals and atmosphere pretty… and wonders if they’ll get to have a quaint sit down out here. A picnic would be cuter than a noisy tavern… (scheming)
He’s noticed the way everyone seems weary, and can’t quite blame them. It’s been a long day of walking, but he does this every day! “A moment, please.” He scrambles off to a nearby tavern, and soon walks out with fresh buns wrapped in a cloth, and a bundle of cheese. Yeah we’re going straight up ghibli here. “A moment’s repose, if thou need sustenance before we meet with the sage. I ought to find Adras, too…”
Milly will take her ghibli cheese and bread without shame.
he fares decently on the stares, taking in the architecture and thinking about the implications of the similarities it has to towns down below. felt a bit nostalgic. maybe he’ll look into the place’s history later.
Ludo hands Milly her share! He even smiles a little!
Somewhere along the way, Genbu gets a bit lost in thought. It would have been nice to share this travel with him.
