black journey

Narrator

The Black Journey sways with the motion of the waves, smooth sailing blessing your path from where Driftwood has been approaching the Norsern Isles back towards the Tua Torian islands it most recently passed. Returning this way puts you in safer waters anyway; with the way the Isles have spent the last year closed off from the other nations, Driftwood has been fraught with tension over its annual approach to the northern seas. For you, however, that anxiety gets to wait a bit longer.

Through various means, Lent has personally approached you all to embark on this journey. Either that, or you’re another human shield between Lent and the impending overflow of Goddess worship :clueless: The task itself is rather simple, since Lent has already managed to narrow it down to two churches and a convent, all located in the same town. All that really needs to be done is a thorough investigation of each one for Lent’s sister.

LENT

“Her name is Cordelia, unless she’s changed it.” Lent addresses you all now, as the coast comes into view. You still have a bit of time to waste onboard before heading to land, but they want this clear, at least. “And she’s not going to remember me, so don’t even ask. Just look around, ask questions, whatever works to figure out where she’s at.” And after that? Well… Lent will just have to find out exactly what kind of person she is.

Narrator

For now, you are all free to converse with Lent or each other until you dock at the edge of town. Ezekiel is here, for those who know him, and will be keeping an eye on the ship alongside the various NPCs that also live here. If you’re unsure about the in-character reason why you’re here, I know one for literally all of you so just ask and ill explain.

Milly Dubois

Milly keeps to herself (unfortunately the gun incident at the tavern was Remembered), not entirely thrilled to be back on this particular ship. She wonders what Cordelia might look like—the name is pretty enough so she’s thinking of someone fancy… It makes her nervous that she’s got to go talk to a bunch of mainlanders but it’s for Lent’s benefit.

She peers over the railing as the coast shows up on the horizon.

Narrator

Milly, you’re even a bit close to home. You aren’t being forced to go back, at least, but it might feel a little strange.

Noel Navarro

Noel has most definitely been idly talking with Ezekiel up until Lent demanded their attention, on which he turns to focus as he should. So her name is Cordelia…

He raises his arm before asking a question. “Will Miss Cordelia not remember you because you two have never met, or might there be another reason?”

Nazario Caligari

Oh! It’s the young lady from the tavern. Nazario cautiously approaches her, peering from side to side just to examine her, while Noel talks to Lent in the distance.

“Hey there. You’re Ezekiel’s friend, right?”
